I'll also note that this model doesn't have the windy roads feature. Otherwise, I've not experienced many other problems and I'm quite happy with it. It's difficult at home, trying not to lose the little nuts, bolts, washers or parts of the mount I wouldn't want to attempt it anywhere else. To remove the cable from the mount, so the cable can freely hang you have to get out your little spanner, undo four nuts and bolts and take it apart. Awful design if you want any kind of flexibility. So at the end of the wire you've got this big, chunky plastic and metal mount that if not connected to the handlebars, will just hang vicariously by the cable coming out of the frame by the forks.Įxcellent design when the sat nav is used, it just slips right in. Annoyingly, the cable (which is one complete wire, running from the battery all the way through the bike to the end that connects to the back of the sat nav) is fixed in by design to the mount. Section 1+2 are actually real RAM mounts, so could be used with any other RAM compatible mount. Ideally, if you didn't want to use the satnav/mount you'd take it off by removing both section 2+3 from the handlebar section, or take section 3 off so you can use another mount with 1+2. The cable is designed to be kept in place by the mount, so the mount needs to be on the handlebars all the time, and it's not a small, discrete mount by any means.įor example, the mount is in three sections: Section one on handlebar, Section three is the mount for the device with the cable fixed in place and Section two is the arm that holds them together. The bad inconvenient points: The way the mount is designed is a bit of a problem. You will however have to supply+fit your own eyelets to the cables so you can attach it to the battery. It was a bit tricky to install but it's easily within your reach if you feel comfortable working on your bike, no need to go to a mechanic or anything like that.

Because it's sole purpose is a satnav it does navigation well although it may lack some of the bells and whistles of some phone apps.

Using it without having to take gloves off is a relief. Good points are because it's designed for bikes, it feels fit for purpose. I'm going to copy&paste an edited reply I made in a previous post to highlight some things people might not be aware of: I have this and brought it from Aldi for this price.
